Courtesy Visit of JICA Delegation to Bangladesh Agricultural University and Call on BAU Vice-Chancellor
A high-level delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), led by Mr. Tomihide Ichiguchi, Chief Representative of the JICA Bangladesh Office, paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Dr. A. K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh, on 30 November 2025 (Sunday).During the visit, the delegation held a constructive meeting with the JICA-BAU SANRICE Project team, headed by Prof. Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, Department of Soil Science, BAU, and Project Director. The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor welcomed the JICA representatives and expressed his appreciation for JICA’s continued support towards sustainable agricultural development and institutional capacity enhancement at BAU.
Both sides expressed optimism that the engagement would further accelerate the SANRICE project’s impact while strengthening the longstanding friendship and collaborative research efforts between Bangladesh and Japan.
