BAU Teams Secure Gold and Bronze at International Competition
Students of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) have marked a significant global achievement by winning awards in multiple categories at the International Student Competition 2025, organized by the International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (CIGR).
Competing across seven technical sections, four teams from BAU’s Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology secured two Gold and two Bronze awards. The Gold-winning teams excelled in “Energy in Agriculture” and “System Management,” while Bronze awards were earned in “Structures and Environment” and “System Management”.
In the “Energy in Agriculture” category, Md. Abu Horaira Al Rezon, Amina Arif Riya, and Sowaib Ahmed Sotej secured Gold, while Tanvir Hossain, Khoirom Ananta Oni, and Nusrat Jahan Mumu also claimed Gold in “System Management.” Sabidur Rahman Shezan and Nusrat Jeehan Jui earned Bronze in “Structures and Environment.” These teams were supervised by Dr. Anisur Rahman.
Additionally, M. Rahat Mia and Khandakar Junayed Ahmed won Bronze in “System Management” under the supervision of Dr. Md. Rostom Ali. As recognition, Gold winners will receive $500 and Bronze winners $200, along with certificates.
With participants from countries including the United States, Brazil, India, and Nigeria, BAU students demonstrated strong innovation and research capability on a global stage. The winners will be formally recognized at the CIGR World Congress in Turin in June 2026.
This accomplishment underscores BAU’s growing international reputation in agricultural engineering and the rising potential of its students.
