Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU)

Professor Dr. Richard Bell of Murdoc University, Australia and  his collaborating BAU research team met Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh Professor Dr. A. K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, on thursday (12 November 2024) at the Vice-Chancellor’s office of BAU in mymensingh. The Vice-Chancellor BAU thanked the Professor Dr. Richard Bell for visiting Bangladesh Agricultural University. Both the bodies discussed various matters on professional interests. In the meeting, Prof. Bhuiyan stressed the need for strengthening the existing bonds of cooperation between the BAU and Murdoc University. Professor Dr. M Hammadur Rahman, Director BAURES was present in the meeting . Professor Dr. M. Mofizur Rahman Jahangir-Soil Science (PI), Professor Dr. Hasneen Jahan, Agricultural Economics (PI), Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Mojid, Irrigation & Water Management (Co-PI), Professor Dr. Sabina Yesmin-Prof. Agronomy (Co-PI), Professor Dr. Mahmuda Nasrin-Assoc. Prof. Agricultural Economics (Co-PI), and Professor Dr. Wakilur Rahman Rural Sociology (Co-PI) of BAU Research Team, were also present at the meeting. Murdoc University(MU) team Recognize BAU as the most Productive research collaborator and they acknowledge the generous support of  BAU as the last decade. MU expresses their interests to continue their efforts on agricultural research with BAU as long-term research friendship. The Vice-Chancellor of BAU Professor Dr. A. K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan has been always generous and open to interested collaboration with MU. He added BAU will provide all kinds of support in the any further endeavors.

Murdock University and BAU has been working on the adopting conservation agriculture practices in Bangladesh since 2011. It has appeared as a proven technology to mitigate climate change, reduce greenhouse gas emission, reduce agricultural inputs, increase farmers profit and improve soil health & fertilities on agriculture practices in Bangladesh.
